154.4! That means I can finally kiss 10 pounds goodbye since I started following WW.
I was telling Rob yesterday that, while I’d be happier to have lost more in this 22-week period, I’ve found the bright side to it being so (so, so) gradual: The longer you do something, the more it becomes habit.
I’m not on some crash diet that’s going to melt the fat away in a few short weeks. Those only set you up for gaining it all back plus some once you return to “normal” life.
But with this, my eating and exercise has become my normal life. And because of that, I’m confident that I’ve truly kissed those 10 pounds goodbye for good.
I found this blog entry on the evils of fast food rather interesting.
I’ve basically given up fast food and only see it as an option when traveling makes it just too difficult to eat real food.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m still convinced that heaven is full of all-you-can-eat buffets stocked with McDonald’s double cheeseburgers and french fries, but God hasn’t bestowed upon me the gift of Super Metabolism (metalobism?), so I sadly have put McD’s and other such delicious but dangerous foods on my Ignore List.
And the blog entry I linked? Yeah, I pretty much agree with it all.
If you’ve seen “Over The Hedge,” I’m referring to Hammy, the insanely energetic squirrel.
I don’t consume much caffeine regularly, and it affects me different each time. Sometimes it doesn’t do a thing. Then other times, like today, it hits me like a jolt in the pants.
I can’t sit still! I’m typing at lightening speed (although not without a ton of typos I have to go back and correct), and I feel like I could just vibrate right out of my seat, kind of like how a vibrating phone or pager will “walk” off a table.
What’s the deal?
Down .2 pounds. Sure, it’s a loss, which is good, but .2! Ugh. Curse 155. I’m sick of you!
It’s my own fault, though. I only got on the elliptical three times this week. Shame on me. I did tack on a walk after one of those workouts, though!
In related news, I bought an exercise ball at TJ Maxx the other day. I couldn’t pass up the $7.99 price for the right size and type of ball I’ve seen recommended. I’m going to start with crunches and see if my amazing balance skillz allow me to stay on the ball.
Hey, maybe I’ll become more balanced. That’d be a plus!
I had my doubts about the plank position, but my abs are telling me different.
I’ve done it twice now, and I feel it a little in my back, but I don’t feel too much in my arms. However, my abs? I feel like I’ve done bunches of crunches, from way low to way high. Don’t believe me? Try it out. You’ll see!
