The mall near me is noisy and chaotic.
Sometimes this is all my brain processes when I go there.

SPARKLES!

Never too old for scraped knees. I managed to open my car door into my leg today. Ouch.
It’s been A Week – just one of those that you need to tighten your scope on the world and cling to the near and dear without worrying about the fringe aspects of life. While I love my blog and you readers, I just had to scale back for a bit of a breather and bask in some quiet time.
I’ll probably regret not taking photos for a week, but I’m OK with that. I could have taken photos to save for this entry, but I just wasn’t feeling up to any of it. The beauty of writing for yourself is you can totally blow deadlines without getting reprimanded.
I hope you don’t mind.
I do have one photo from last week, taken Friday. Friday night was pretty much the highlight of my week. My cousin, his wife and their son stopped in for a quick, one-night visit on their way to the beach. Not many people have made the trek from NE Ohio (where I’m from and where probably 98 percent of my family live), but I’m happy to have the number of visitors grow by three.
The visit was super short, but we were able to cram in a quick boat ride out to dinner Friday night. The lake was empty of other boaters, and the heat hadn’t quite hit yet (holy 95+ degrees this weekend, batman), so conditions were absolutely perfect. Dinner was also pretty excellent, but it was the company that made the night truly awesome.

I don’t dare to dream the way many do while (or sometimes before) trying to conceive. There are names I like, but I don’t have any picked out for a future child. There’s a rug I like at IKEA that would look really pretty in a bright blue room, but that’s as far as my plans for a nursery go. Hell, I’d be happy to have that rug and wall color in a future library (which I will definitely have one day). I have never bought a tiny pair of socks just in case. I’ve never stashed away a cute baby blanket.
Baby fever is what they call the obsession some women develop over all the baby Stuff – the clothes, toys, nursery decor, name books – STUFF.

Hellcat Rocky snuggles once every few months. Rob was the lucky recipient this time.

Why did the geese cross the road?
No, that isn’t how the joke goes …

Bliss.
