Another crappy week, another crappy gain.
I still haven’t figured out the balance between working later and working out while making dinner and doing things around the house (or passing out on the couch from exhaustion). Thanks to my poor time management, I only exercised once last week.
Once. And it’s painfully obvious.
On top of working a lot, I’m just all-over tired. I honestly think I wouldn’t be so tired if I could work up the energy to work out (and find the time), but it’s an evil little circle that usually ends in me not moving on the couch.
I aim to change that this week, though.
I ordered a pedometer that should be arriving today, and my goal is going to get in 6,000 steps a day. (They recommend 6,000 for health and 10,000 for weight loss. My pedometer won’t track “steps” on the elliptical – my main form of exercise – so I’m just going for healthy steps.)
On top of that, I have big plans to dust off my Winsor Pilates set for some strengthening, and I also added a few workout DVDs to my Blockbuster queue.
Surely I can get back on track. I need to.
It’s been too long, so here’s an official IOU for a real-live post that’s about something not related to my squishiness or my quest to de-squish.
I promise. Just not right now.
Is it obvious how busy I’ve been?
The scale read 155.4 on Sunday, which makes a gain of 0.4 pounds.
I’ll take that, considering I only exercised three times and spent the majority of the week with my butt glued to my chair at work.
Eating is going well. Water intake is going well. Exercising, not so well. But does being upset by that count for something?
It’s a new week (nearly halfway through by now). I’m still pretty busy at work, but I’m aiming for four days on the elliptical this week.
In other news, I had to move my belt in a notch and can now fit comfortably in skinnier jeans. Hurrah! Progress!
This week at work has been crazy-busy, and I’ve had to sacrifice my working out for working, eating and sleeping.
I’m so upset! And you know what? I miss it!
I’m so glad I got up early Sunday morning, because without that, I’d only have one workout in for the week so far, and it’s already Thursday.
On the bright side, I’ve done excellent with my daily points, only going over by a total of seven so far. I’m trying to make up for my lack of activity. I hope it works.
Down 2.2 pounds!
Workout report: I used the elliptical three times (30 minutes twice and 28 minutes the third time) and took Lucky for a walk/run one day.
I only did three times on the elliptical because Thursday was just plain insane. I didn’t get home till 7 and had to start dinner right away. We finished with dinner around 8:30, and that’s just too late for me to digest and work out before bed.
And why the walk/run? It was 70 degrees out, and Lucky was particularly energetic. I didn’t think it was fair to keep her in the house with no nice, long walk while I exercised.
Food report: I didn’t use any of my flex points for the week thanks to the Super Bowl blowout. I stuck to my daily points all week. It paid off!
And just because I’ll forget by next week’s weigh in, I started off THIS week with a bang. I got up early this morning and did 20 minutes on the elliptical before church.
