(Eleanor, Toby)

This is how naps look these days. They don’t always look just like this (switch out one baby for another, remove one, add one – the combinations are endless!), but they usually resemble this lack of sleeping babies.

They’re never going to nap again, are they? I should just start referring to this phase of my life as The Zombie Years, shouldn’t I?

I know, I know. It’s likely a phase (marching through week 3? 4? now); they’re likely experiencing that wild and wonderful four-month (corrected age) wakeful period.

But you never know. This may be the end of REM cycling as I know it.

Crap, Number Three is awake. Ta ta!

(I wrote this on my iPod Touch with a view identical to the above photo. Blogging with 7-month-old triplets is creative and innovative! Whee!)

At nearly 8 months my daughter *finally* got the hang of napping. They’ll work it out!

My daughter was a LOUSY napper from about 2 weeks old to about 7 months. Then she got the hang of it. Of course the first thing to go once she’s teething is naps, so it’s never consistent for long!

  3. Cuties! And love the new(er) header!

I was just going to say that it’s the 4-month wakeful period. Some say it’s just a myth but I’m here to tell you that it’s not. I went through it with BOTH my boys like clockwork.

Landon went back to sleeping eventually. Brigham didn’t :/

p.s. lovin the new blog header!

  5. awww.. but eleanor’s rolls are cute.. 😉

I personally don’t buy into the 4 month wakeful (or any of the other madeup milestones). Babies can’t read calendars. They go through sooo many phases in the first… well, many years of their lives. They’ll go through sleep phases, they’ll go through eating phases, they’ll go through toy phases, etc. I firmly believe that once you declare something, i.e. “my baby loves blueberries!” they sense it and change, haha.
My only advice is maybe they’re ready to drop a nap? Or maybe they’re truly just not tired right now. Good luck!
