Returning from my brief, unannounced hiatus (163/365)
It’s been A Week – just one of those that you need to tighten your scope on the world and cling to the near and dear without worrying about the fringe aspects of life. While I love my blog and you readers, I just had to scale back for a bit of a breather and bask in some quiet time.
I’ll probably regret not taking photos for a week, but I’m OK with that. I could have taken photos to save for this entry, but I just wasn’t feeling up to any of it. The beauty of writing for yourself is you can totally blow deadlines without getting reprimanded.
I hope you don’t mind.
I do have one photo from last week, taken Friday. Friday night was pretty much the highlight of my week. My cousin, his wife and their son stopped in for a quick, one-night visit on their way to the beach. Not many people have made the trek from NE Ohio (where I’m from and where probably 98 percent of my family live), but I’m happy to have the number of visitors grow by three.
The visit was super short, but we were able to cram in a quick boat ride out to dinner Friday night. The lake was empty of other boaters, and the heat hadn’t quite hit yet (holy 95+ degrees this weekend, batman), so conditions were absolutely perfect. Dinner was also pretty excellent, but it was the company that made the night truly awesome.

So glad you got to visit with some family!
And welcome back! We missed you.
It looks like you guys had a great time. Our family never comes to visit us either, so I totally understand.
I’m glad you got some face time with family! My family lives close…but we rarely ever visit. They are serious drama llamas and I just can’t handle that. Welcome back and great photo!
