We finally had that weekend free of plans I was yearning for, and it’s paid off so far.

We successfully packed up Christmas at our house. Yes, we’re late on doing so. And we’re late every year. But you can’t say we didn’t make the most out of the season and our $80 Fraser fir.

Other than packing up Christmas, we bought, picked up and set up our new-to-us elliptical, did a general cleaning on the house, cleaned out the attic and purged some of the crap we’ve been hoarding, I got control of the mound of dishes, I’m working on tackling the laundry (the pile of clean clothes is finally gone), I’m done with most of the grocery shopping for the week, I’ve made a pot of soup to eat through the week, and well, I’m just feeling good about the accomplishments.

Sure, there is more that needs to be done. But there always will be more that needs to be done. At least now it’s a more manageable to-do list and not one that is choking me and making me look for a nice, big rock to crawl under.
