I’ve been drafting blog entry after blog entry in my head, but the amount of info I’m behind on covering is overwhelming. I can’t seem to finish a head draft without breaking off into a wild and crazy tangent. Then I just get even more overwhelmed with the prospect of weeding through the muck that is my writer’s brain.

I’ve been neglectful of this blog. Rightfully so, sure, but I want to keep up with it better – mainly for me, but also for you, dear readers.

What do you wonder about me? About the babies? About a triplet house? Want some cheerleading for your struggles with the breast pump? Or maybe with cloth diapers?

I want to cover so much, but I just can’t bring myself to weave together a concise update that hits on each point of awesome and not-so-awesome that we power through on the daily.

So, what say you? Hit me with your best shot.

And now I have Pat Benatar stuck in my head. I love hearing your updates regardless of content but for sure I’m a sucker for cloth diapers.

  2. Lauren says:

So you are doing well pumping for all three babies? I had a horrible time getting anything out for my SINGLE baby, and had to give up pumping after 2 months (she didn’t like nursing at all). Are you planning on just pumping as long as you can? I assume once each baby is taking like 6-8 oz per feeding it is going to be hard to keep up?

Also are you nursing any of them directly, or do they always get bottles? Just curious!!!!!!!!! THANKS!

I would love to hear your thoughts on cloth diapers. How are they working out, do you still love them? That kind of thing.

  4. Jennifer says:

You’re battling the cloth diapers??? OO – do tell! When our time comes (TTC presently) we plan on using cloth. What’s the down and dirty process of it all, especially via three bums???

Do you have one brand you use? Which is your fave? Pros/Cons? Do you have preferences for night verses day diapers?

I’m itching for your scoop on this!!!

  5. Jennifer says:

OO – I just thought of another one!

You have all sorts of awesome baby-gear concepts (baby wearing, bottle drying). What’s your favorite that makes life easiest? Maybe a top 10 things that make life with triplets easier?

  6. I’d be interested in a top 10 {or how ever many you want to do} baby products you couldn’t live without.
Even though I saw you do it in person, I’m with previous posters that I’d love to read another CD rundown.
I also think a post about each baby would be fun. What each is doing/liking/etc at the moment.

Can’t wait to see you & them again in 3 weeks for the walk! :)

  7. Megan says:

What’s the nighttime routine at our house? How much sleep are you getting? Your husband? It’s hard with one, can’t imagine 3! Way to go!

  8. Sarah-Anne says:

what does your new normal day look like, and of course, we all want more pics of the trio!!
glad to hear i’m not the only one that has 50 bajillion head drafts and zero time to write them… 😉

    Hi jenny~

id like to know what a normal day is like, do you have any sort of routine/schedule ( i know you have touched on how hard it is before to have or create one) what are the different personalities of toby callista and eleanor? how do you rob and your parents rotate each job or is it mostly just your parents during the day with you while rob is at work. How do you think your life has changed since pbj were born and in the nicu. How do you handle visitors, or do you just let a select few come by? Have you made many trips out into the world besides the drs? i have so many more questions …how long before this post is closed before you respond?

  10. I’d say a typical day.. but I’d say if you’re having trouble organizing posts.. just post mini daily posts each day to go over whatever happened that day, and whatever baby/triplet topic happens to be on your mind. It may seem scatterbrained, but as time goes on, you’ll sort things out in your head. Not to mention, it’s fun to look back a year or two later and read how clearly flustered you were. :)

Another one that kind of goes along w/ your routine – how do you get errands done, like grocery shop. Oh and your pretzel dog tweet made me wonder – what are you guys eating? Lots of prepared stuff or are you able to cook?

  12. Hillary says:

Are all the babies healthy and on track? Does anyone make gains faster than the others, what are there different personalities like?

Cannot wait to read all these new blog posts!

I just wanted to address part of Laurens question (and to hopefully preventJenny from freaking out…) (and sorry to butt in, btw). Breastfed babies don’t generally need 6-8 ounces per bottle. The components of breastmilk change as the babies get older, not necessarily the amount. When my daughter started daycare at 12 weeks she was drinking 3-4 ounces per bottle, and she never got higher than 5 ounces.
I’d still love to here your pumping/BFing experience, but I don’t want the pumping question to give you any unnecessary worries.

  14. Maria says:

I’m 23w with Triplets and planning on CD’ing. Would LOVE to hear about your experience – eg: how many do you have, whats worked best for you, how do you keep up etc etc.

So glad the babies are getting big and strong!

I want to know if there is anything I can do to help! I live no where near you so it has to be something I can do from far away. Your parents are there to help, right? Do you have any other volunteers that help with day-to-day stuff? Can I do something for them since they are helping you? Any way I can help with house cleaning, laundry washing, dish do-ing, etc? I’m crafty and I like to make things, I crochet and knit and make stuff, is there something I can make for the kiddos? Any suggestions you have of things I can do for you? Also, other than the obvious, how has having triplets changed your lives? Do you plan on staying home with them until they are in school? Was staying home always your plan, or just since finding out its triplets? Do you guys plan on having more kids? How has having triplets changed your future plans?

  16. Mama Fisch says:

I want to know what a typical day/night looks like for you with three? When the heck do you sleep? Are you one of those people that can function on very little sleep? And, do you drink caffeine since you are nursing?

  17. Mariah says:

I’m due in June with twins, and I’d love to hear all your adventures with pumping and cloth diapering! :)

And also, I agree with the above; I’d love to hear about a typical day in the life.

So glad all is going so well! :)

  18. Gail says:

What items would be on your list for buying baby shower gifts and gifts for visiting baby(ies) and mommy the first time? What items do you wish you’d gotten (or gotten more of) and which items were not wanted?

  19. Jess says:

I would love to know how you came up with ET&C’s names and what meaning, if any, do they have.

  20. Chelsea says:

I would love to see a post about breast feeding triplets. I am tandem nursing an 18 month old and 6 month old and know the struggles associated with two (hell, even one). Are you having to supplement or do you produce enough for all three? How do you find time to pump? Do any of the babies nurse or are they all bottle fed breastmilk? How long do you plan on breastfeeding?

You’re such an inspiration. So many people would not even attempt to breastfeed multiples. Great job for making it this far!
